1857 – 1914 Union Baptist Church was founded and incorporated in 1857 and met in small school house in Union County. They had part time Ministers fill in during those years. 1914 – 1994 A new building was built and a constitution was formed with about 75 members. During this time they added on twice to the building with Sunday School class rooms. In 1976 they added a baptistery, library, and Pastor's study. In 1985 they added the Fellowship Hall. 1994 – Present In February of 1994 Pastor Peria started his ministry and through his leadership we have seen much accomplished. Many new ministries have been started and many improvements have been made. March 1994-Started a Choir April 1994- started a Youth Ministry. We thank the Lord for His goodness and give Him the glory for all that has been accomplished.

Pastor Peria grew up in Ticonderoga, New York and accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of 5. When he was 15 years of age he went to live at Word of Life Inn and remained there until he graduated from High School. Upon graduating from high school he enlisted into the Army and served for Three years, one being in Vietnam. In September of 1970 three months before leaving the Army He married his wife Joy. For thirteen years He worked for Ekco Products and was actively involved at Open Bible Baptist Church in Williamstown, New Jersey. In 1986, Pastor Peria felt the Lord's call on his life to preach. He left his job as a Technician at Ekco Products and took his family to Chattanooga, Tennessee where he studied for the ministry. Pastor Peria graduated from Tennessee Temple University in 1989 with his Bachelor degree in Pastoral Studies and returned back on staff at Open Bible Baptist Church and served as an assistant to Dr. George Riddell. In February of 1994, Pastor Peria and his family relocated to Richwood, Ohio where he served as the Pastor of Union Baptist Church. Pastor and Joy have two children: Chris and Julie. Joy received her Bachelor degree from Rocky Mountain Bible College in North Carolina. She is a retired 1 st grade teacher from Delaware Christian School. Chris is married to Sonya Hanners and  have three children and is a Bible teacher at  Delaware Christian School. Julie is married to Daniel Reed he is currently serving at Fort Trial Baptist Church as the Youth Pastor.
